1984 has arrived and Big Brother is watching you.
Whatever happened to article 8?

  1. I read about this on a blog this am - not The Guardian - busy with other things so paper(s) unread.

Bastards! (I would argue that 1984 arrived a long time ago).

    Anna :o]

  2. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

    1. "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?"

We do of course. We watch them watching us watching them.

I wonder what the logistics are going to be like for this frankly. How on earth are they going to read everyone's emails? And aren't they already reading the emails of the people who are 'of interest' to them? What is all this about?

Nil illegitemi carborundum Anna. I've probably spelled that all wrong..

  3. Don't yo'all know folks that much of this already goes on? A number of locations in the UK leased to the US already monitor mobile phone traffic for 'keywords' and likely (by now) the internet. It's an open secret in the circles I used to mix in (surprisingly some of them quite nice people).

This was on the Blair agenda some years ago but was abandoned by difficulty. That difficulty has now been overcome and GCHQ wants to hear from you. G4S is taking over policing in the West Midlands, boose is going to be made too dear for the proles (but not the 'Bolly' crowd), we have a private police force (armed) at Nuclear Power Stations, we are all responsible for our own demise because we are all ingnorant boose swilling fat trolls eating too much meat and fat (despite the evidence to the contrary).

The neo-liberal agenda reigns. Big Brother is already ascendant, can't you learn to just love him and embrace the inevitable and let them put the tracker device on your ankle?

  4. Hi Dr Z, I would like to send you a private email: is that possible?

  5. If you go to the right hand side of the blog and scroll down you will come to "view my complete profile" Click on that and you will find a link to email me. Alternatively my email address is
