Silence never won rights.  They are not handed down from above; they are forced by pressures from below.

  1. Nonesense!

Show me a revolution that made life better for those oppressed! Where? Do you like the revolution in Iran? Off with the Shah and replace him with ayatollahs and khominis? Where did this get Iran on the global stage and for the locals?! The 1952 revolution of Egypt, replace king Farouq with the army and where did that get them??

Tell me where around the world where revolutions were successful and made the lives of the oppressed better? Revolutions only replaces one kind of oppression with another, it removes one set of rulers with another set of lower calibre leading to chaos and more poverty as matters get out of control because the new set is never ready or prepared for the job.

If you want to improve the lives of the oppressed, put food on their tables, not only through charity but through creating wealth by creating jobs - a global drive to use cheap labour in those regions is a good example [car assembly and manufaturing same ... etc]. Yes, this will take away jobs from the west but the west can always adjust and innovate to replace the losses because it is wealthy and has an incentive to remain wealthy. As for those poorer regions, it is true most of the new wealth generated will be robbed by the ruling few, but some will have to go down the line and improve the lives of the poor and the ripple effect will improve the whole. Bit by bit those will then seek bettering their own lives politics wise too. This can work.

Wars and revolutions are vicious circles that achieve nothing but heart ache. Peace, understanding, love and some compassion are the only way.

How right were those ancient teachings!
