“What with Islamism and the religious right being obsessed with women's bodies and demanding that we be veiled, bound, and gagged, nudity breaks taboos and is an important form of resistance.”
Full honour to Dr Zorro for highlighting Maryam Namazie's thoughts on the subject of oppression of women and her resistance to this - for which she has been threatened and along with other women in some countries could very possibly have been killed by stoning.
But Dr Rita Pal, she's a very different kettle of fish. She did not see any value in the International Women's Day - she said this on her Twitter account. She switches Maryam Namazie's message about resistance to oppression of women to one that has frankly and clearly an openly sexual tone, not even an undertone.
Why, Dr Zorro, do you give this woman any space? You even support her by listing one of her blogs which makes money for her.
Having to exibit one's body to make a point about freedom, besides the obvious since we do not have fur to cover us like cats, is opression in itself. I choose decency, to wear, and to insist on my 'real' freedoms still, a complete set too! I insist on being 'me', and have always been!
Oh dear.... The GMC have already bound you to their bed. They are about to whip every doctor and yourself.... :).
ReplyDeleteAll you can do is lie there and think of...... [ well, just think of me]
