Finitro Forte Scam

I wrote recently about scam advertising appearing on blogs and gave a few examples. The latest is a “miracle cure” for arthritis called Finitro Forte. Any discerning doctor who reads the claims for this substance will see at once that they are grossly misleading. Far too good to be true, but we all know that patients in pain will try anything, and can be swindled out of considerable sums of money by the unscrupulous.

However the Advertising Standards Authority have jumped on this remarkably quickly and ordered the company to stop making these unjustified claims. The company did not respond to the ASAs approaches and the ads are still appearing, at least on sites originating outside the UK.

Any patient who approaches their doctor for advice on this product should be advised of the ASA ruling, and the fact that the promotion is a scam.

    1. HERE IN SWEDEN WE CAN JUST DRAW A LINE OVER THE WHOLE INVOICE AND MAKE TAKE A COPY TO THE POLICEDEPARTMENT IN YOUR CITY AND MAKE A FORMAL POLICE-COMPLAINT AGAINST THE COMPANY- SAYING THAT YOU DISAGREE (I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT JURIDICAL WORD FOR IT) AND THEN THE POLICE WRITES A DOCUMENT ATTACHED THAT YOU NEVER ASKED TO BE APPRACHED BY THE COMPANY, OR, IN THE OTHER CASE, THAT YOU HAVE ASKED THEH COMPANY TO DISCONTINUE THEIR DELIVERIES AND THAT IT´S AGAINST THE LAW.

  3. What exactly are you disagreeing with? Is it that there is no evidence that the ingredients have any beneficial effects? If there is then please provide the evidence. Or are you disagreeing that the ASA told them to remove their misleading advertising? The link shows quite clearly that they did. This comment looks to me suspiciously like the testimonials that you find on the promotional sites, with no way of verifying authenticity.

There are many other countries whose people are every bit as important! The FDA has nothing to do with other countries and is therefore not being heeded much.

I don't want to try it because I don't trust them after all of these. Recently I received a mail where they told me the product takes 10-14 days to arrive. They have no phone or address in their webpage... strange...

On a side not, the arthritis pills work very well for my wife. She has arthritis in her hands very bad but with the pills she has no complaints. Now she can keep on baking my cookies!

Negative: The pills didn't arrive in the time expected, but we were assured a new mailing system by whoever answers the American emails. I think he/she might answer Canadian ones as well because our sister in law in Canada recieved a similar email.

In good terms, we have been getting our packages quicker than expected in previous orders. Our last order was for 3 packages 2 weeks ago and they came last Wednesday.

    Kudos to Finitro!

  9. Although the advertisers have toned down their claims considerably what remains is still tosh, unsupportable by any evidence whatsoever. Ineresting that some testimonials are now appearing here but these companies try hard to dominate the web so that critical voices are lost.
Frank, be told, your wife gets no benefit from this crap other than as a very expensive placebo. Assuming you are not someone from finitro of course.

If you claim to be doctor, that means you claim authority. Too bad you hide behind somebody else's identity, and this identity by itself already hides behind a mask. Symbols do mean much!
"Nor do I need to suffer from a condition to comment."
Nobody knows more about his pains than he who suffers. It is astounding to hear a doctor - or anyone in fact - tell the opposite.
"I treated thousands of patients, as a specialist, for many years without once suffering from their complaints."
Now, that is to be in Guiness Records! Unless they could not complaint from 3 feet down under, which is common. Sorry "Doctor", that all thing does not sound credible at all.

I will see how it goes. I ordered 3 months supply. I was taking glocosomine, codliver oil and paracematol anyways so this product contains these ingredients plus more i.e. omega 3 etc. You would pay the same amount in the chemist for the above anyway so I dont see that this product is any more expensive than the products sold in the local chemists.

  22. I ordered Finitro Forte Plus sometimes in October 2012, having read the email address which says: customerservice-nz@finitro.com. OK I said the Company is here in New Zealand and that wont take more than a week to deliver. After 14 days I emailed them to find out whats happening to my order. They said it will be there within 21 - 30 days. I send more email to verify what is the hold up, they then told me it's coming from the Netherlands. My suspicions skyrocketed at that point. Its now 62 days since my order was placed I have not received anything. I have asked for a refund and they said it will take 21 days to issue the refund. Has someone got the same story.

  24. Re Finitro - have a look at "Evidence for the efficacy of complementary and alternative medicines in the management of rheumatoid arthritis: a systematic review

Gillian L. Dowds1 and Robert J. Moots4 on behalf of the Arthritis Research UK

It seem sthat collagen II actually works in reducing the effects of rheumatoid arthritis and (hopefully) osteoarthritis. 1. I have looked at Macfarlane's paper. I can only conclude that you haven't. It looks at CAM, not Finitro, and concludes no benefit. Re your second reference, I can only conlude that if you think this is evidence for efficacy in RA, then you don't know what "in vitro" means.

  25. I am in Australia and this is an email response from Finitro that I quickly received re my concerns on the product. "Thanks for your email. There's no uniform international study to Finitro Forte Plus, but our components have been studied thoroughly. I've collected the most important studies for you concerning collagen type II, one
of our most important components. These are all independent studies.

    1. The references provided:
Bagchi et all. A very small (5 patients) unblinded, no placebo, no controls. Utterly worthless.
Crrowley, again no control group, no placebo, worthless.
Trentham, positive, but cherry picked. A multicenter trial showed no reliable benefit
The lab may well attain the standards required for approval, but that does not constitute approval of the product.

  29. So I am not a Finitro Forte Plus employee, I purchased the product also, it took about 14 days to arrive here in Canada. So not horrible, I have seen a few people claiming its a scam but they have not even tried it, I have seen a few people who say they think they feel pain relief but have only been taking this a couple days. So here is what I plan to do. 1) after work today I am going to go to my doctor and see about getting x-rays ( I have been taking Finitro Forte Plus for now 1 and 1/2 days so my arthritus should still be pretty much the same even if this stuff works ) and once a month I will do the same. I have a twitter account and I am posting my daily feelings on the product on my Facebook. Look up Nathan Lorence ( @Daddy Lorence ) on twitter. 39. They're back on Facebook today, still touting this stuff as a cure for arthritis - "no more pain". They even talk about "greasing the joint" - by taking a pill which is glucosamine and chondroitin, plus collagen... how this is supposed to get into the joints is not explained. Nor yet how it's supposed to repair diseased tissue. Still, there's one born every minute... If this stuff worked, my doctor would prescribe it; and you can buy most of it over the counter anyway at considerably less than the £40 per 120 tablets they're asking for - I tried glucosamine and chondroitin before: laughably ineffective, except I didn't feel much like laughing.

    1. I have to disagree about glucosamine, I have taken it for 20 years and consequently held my arthritis at bay very well. I am a dancer so this is important to me. These type of products don't work over night, you have to keep taking them every day and your symptoms gradually decrease.

      Delete
    2. So, anonymous. What do you mean by "held my arthritis at bay"? If you have radiologically proven symptomatic arthritis, then it clearly hasn't. If you don't then you're talking rubbish. And lots of people have radiological evidence of quite advanced osteoarthritis, yet have virtually no symptoms, and take no medication.

  40. Here some facts of Finitro,
Finitro used to distribute in NL some original health supplements. The owner of the original health supplement has stopped working together with Finitro because of criminal activity.
So once Finitro has lost the distribution they have copied the ingredients from the original health supplement. The ingredients of Finitro is not 100% the same as the original health supplement and misses their effect on people. It is a common practice in health supplements where 95% is a copied product of the original.

    1. Rheumatoid Arthritis is a condition that requires the input of a specialist Rheumatologist and It's treatment is far more complicated than simply buying a medication. I appreciate that her circumstances might make finding effective treatment difficult, but it simply isn't possible to give such advice over the internet.

    2. Hi Dr Zorro, thanks for getting back. Would you be so kind as to offer whatever medication or advice you can please. There are no specialist rheumatologist in Uganda where my sister is and its not so common a condition in that part of the world. So good medication and proper treatments are difficult to come by. Any heads up is much appreciated. Would it be better through an email? She is now living with so much pain and taking Arthritis pain killers which is treating the condition. look forward to hearing from you. Regards

    4. Re: Arthritis pain, I would strongly recommend Prednisone, it is marvelous for controlling my pains and very cheap to buy. The only side effect I suffer is feeling hungry and eating more...:-(

    5. Prednisone (and Prednisolone) is a very potent steroid. It has serious and potentially dangerous side effects. It is used as a last resort therapy, and preferably used only for short periods. It should not be used without medical supervision.

  60. I was about to order after seeing the add on facebook but decided to look for comments about Finitro. Really glad I checked and now would not touch this product with a 40 foot pole.
Facebook should be responsible when accepting advertising from scam companies like these.

  61. hi peter change the word responsible to liable and facebook would drop these ads like a shot

  62. Thank you everyone, yes , it's back on Facebook, claiming to eradicate arthritis in 3 months as long as you of course, buy the special deal and pay a lot of money for a supplement. If it looks too good to be true , makes over the top claims , and is not backed by medical proof , then it is, sadly, a fraud . We are in a great new world now. Took me 10 minutes to reveal the truth, so I'll continue with my exercises, and see my knee specialist in the weeks ahead to explore stem cell as a remedy as that seems to be the only change in the medical world at this time .thanks again

  63. Thank you everyone . I've read the blogs, and checked the web to see if there is any scientific corroboration, but there is none . So, if it looks too good to be true, makes over the top claims and is unsupported, then it's probably a fake . One took me 10 minutes to uncover them . Come on Facebook , you can do better than take money like that . So , back to exercises, and a check with my knee doc , and find out about stem cell treatment. Thanks again

  64. I have 2 comments to make about this product.
    1) I placed an order and was delivered to my address in Tasmania within 10 days.
    Impressive!
    2) I took the product as advised 2 tabs twice a day with food.
After a week I had to stop as this product gave me the WORST EVER case of gastric reflux. Had to go for the Mylanta liquid day and night to keep the stomach acid at bay.
2 days after i stopped using Finitro all is back to normal with reflux.
    Bad side effects

  65. I have osteoarthritis in my knees. I bought a 3 month supply of Finitro Forte in response to their advertising. I paid A$147. I took 4 of these solid, sharp, indigestible tablets every day for 3 months. The result? - absolutely nothing. Fimitro is a FRAUD and the con-men selling it should be in jail.

    1. There are as many different pains as there are people, and what will work for one will not necesarily work for another. There is no "one fits all" pain killer.
