NutraScience scam

The scammers are back! If you spend even a short time each day surfing the web you will probably have seen ads for a slimming product  promising to turn you from a lard eating pie bucket into a lithe slender sex bomb, just by taking their magic pills. If you click on the link to find out more the telltale signs of a scam are all there.

1, The site makes wild and implausible claims to appeal to the desperate and the gullible.

2, The web is saturated with sites promoting the product, often heavily supported by testimonials from satisfied customers. Some of these testimonials might even be genuine.

3, You find that the magic pills are in fact of two types and they only work in combination. So you have to buy both.

4, There is a special offer ending very soon giving you a free trial for just a few pounds.

5, You can only pay by credit card, and you are required to authorise regular deductions from your account.

6, It is difficult, if not impossible to actually contact, or get a response from the company by phone, post or email.

If you look at the list of ingredients there is nothing special. Just a few random substances, green tea, acai berries, inorganic chromate. What are these supposed to do exactly? There is not a jot of evidence that they can in any way help you lose body fat. If you really want to try them you can get them from a health shop far more cheaply, and waste much less money. And when you find they don’t work you don’t have to buy any more. There are already cases of people having signed up to this finding unexpected deductions from their credit card account.

Steer well clear. Don’t give these people your credit card details.

    2. I hadn't given it a thought after placing the order until my friend said to me are your sure its not a scam. I woke up this morning and found this website and went straight downstairs and rang my bank and cancelled my card. I have e-mailed them back several times this morning on every address imaginable informing them that I'm going to return their goods when they arrive within the 14 days. at the moment nothing has gone out of my account but I may not be out of the woods yet. thank you all of you for helping me see the light - I feel really gullible and stupid and I've put it on my status on f/b so that none of my friends get caught out. I hope you all manage to sort it out

    4. This just happened to me too. I didn't read the small print and now got stung with £ 75.00 for a small bottle of Acai, which you can buy a bigger bottle at Holland and Barrats for around £ 14.00 and if on offer; buy one get one half price. I feel stupid and angry at myself as i even contacted my bank and was told that i signed up to it and have to pay the £ 75.00 A lot of money for a small bottle which has had no effect on me at all so far. x

    5. As long as you contact them for a returns reference & address you can make sure that no further money is taken from your account. Their email address is support@nutrasciencediet.com. Don't bother to call them as you won't get through. You must ensure that you return at least half of the products before day 21. I don't think anyone should feel bad about being taken for a ride. The article I read clearly said that it was a free 30 day trial. When I emailed NutraScience they told me that their web site only says you can try it for 14 days. Luckily for me, I read the literature that came with it & realised I had been had! I had used my debit card to pay & cleared all funds from my bank account just in case they tried to take any further money. I also told my bank that no payments were to be made to them. On top of this, I specifically told NutraScience that the goods had been returned, when they would be with them (I sent it back by registered post) & said they weren't to attempt to take any further payments. Turning to the actual diet itself, it is total nonsense. I kept half of the tablets & have been taking 1 in the morning & 1 in the evening (exactly as described in the article I read). I have felt bloated since day 1, have not had any extra energy & my appetite has certainly not been curbed! So far, I have gained 2lbs!! I only have another week to go & have only persevered because I stupidly fell for the con in the first place. But I've learned my lesson. The only way to lose weight is to eat less & excercise more......

  2. The first thing to do is contact your credit card company. If they are unhelpful try trading standards. If all else fails you will have to cancel your card. There are actually some good deals around at the moment for people who want to transfer their balance. Or you could report your card as lost/stolen, in which case they will issue a new one with new details. Make sure you cancel the order and retain any communication.

  6. Exactly what happened to me but they have changed their name. They have taken two lots of money from my account. My tablets the Mango ones which are supplied by the same firm were advertised as free but £104.56p was taken. Also he same amount was taken this month. I did receive the tablets but I have returned them. I took an address off the evelope they came in which was Salt Lake City, cost me nearly £10 I registered them. At least they will be tracked. I could kick myself for being so gullable.I will be contacting trading standards and the police.

  7. I have just spoken to my bank; simply canceling your credit card may not be sufficient as visa will update your details with the company that you have come into an agreement with... sadly for us it's in the small print! Send them an email stating that you wish to cancel with them and then they are illegally taking money from your account... keep hold of the email though!!!

    2. You seem to have had a straight forward encounter. I felt uneasy as soon as I'd committed to buying these pills. I checked the web and hey ho I was right to feel so. I would like to know which email address you used too as none of the ones they advertise work and getting through on the phone is impossible (except to cancel automatically and be stung for doing so). But of course this is what they want-if everyone was able to cancel ligitimately they wouldn't make any money!!! I'm now waiting for the pills to arrive knowing I'm not touching them with a barge poll and facing an uphill struggle to not end up paying through the nose for something I don't want :/

  27. You need to ask your bank or credit card company for their fraud teams phone number and report it to them. They will send out a form for you to complete and return to them so that if this company try to take money from your account it will immediately be returned. It is not enough to cancel your card. hope this is helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  28. it is not techincally a scam. you sign up for a free trial, but have to put your details in to pay for the delivery. the terms and conditions state that after 14 days you will be charged.

this would not be classed as fradulent as you willingly put in your details and agreed.

after reading the terms and conditions i cancelled both accounts and have had no money taken out. were they too after cancellation then yes, that would be fraud, but if you have not cancelled then you will not get the money back.

as someone else said this is an expensive mistake.

  29. I also fell for this product but luckily I read about the scams. I informed my bank and they were really helpful, they cancelled my card and advised me to send the product back and keep all record of emails/letters etc as back-up. The bank have put a stop on them trying to take money from my account. I received an email from NutraScience informing me they have received the goods and have cancelled my order, confirming they will not send me anymore products and will not take any money from my account (little do they know haha)! They did say that they will take money owing but will return it to my account yeah right. I will make sure my friends and family do not fall for this scam I'm just glad I read your blog before it was too late so thank you.

  30. To Annoymous of April 9th - I received the exact same email you have stated with regards to NutraScience cancelling my order.

As I sent my products back before the 14 days and cancelled my order, and my bank will put a stop to them taking money from my account does this make me liable if they cannot get at my money? Or will it be a case of tough you've scammed so many people so it's payback?

  31. I have just fallen for this scam, I phoned up the customer services to cancel the order and I am too return it when it arrives however did people receive this in time? I think im going to have to cancel my card as I cant risk loosing £75 HELP

  32. I have sent and received several emails today regarding NutraScience diet pills and patches when I discovered they had taken another £75 from my credit card account. I am fuming with them.

I returned 41 tablets from the supposed FREE TRIAL they so blazenly advertise and the 2nd consignment by registered post. I then received an email saying the £75 would be refunded, but what I was unaware of at the time was the FREE TRIAL had suddenly turned into a purchase costing £37.50 per item!! So when I felt relieved at seeing the refund that was for the 2nd consignment and this newest charge is for the FREE TRIAL!

I am not a stupid person but feel totally annoyed that I have been made to feel so. In my mind this company need reporting to any agency willing to listen. I will pursue this to the utmost and especially in light of reading so many stories here.

Perhaps an Action Group needs to be formed?

As I answered an advertisement in a Sunday newspaper, would they be interested in this?

  33. Just ordered these and only payed £5 for both shipping! After ordering I thought I better check this out over the web, found this website, i panicked so much! I immediately cancelled my bank account and they were very helpful and are sending me out a new card in 3-5 working days! if this has happened to you I would advise to ring your bank and ask to cancel your account and ask for a new card, therefore they don't have the new card number and can't take anymore money from you! will be intrigued to see if I actually get these tablets and if I do, see if they work!!

    2. Well nearly everyone on this page fell for this scam. FREE TRIAL for only £4.95 p&p. But then WHAM! The charges start coming and coming and so many people have tried to stop this by changing their cards but if they are with the same card company the said company still have to honour any demands from Nutrascience, so it isn't that easy!!!

      Delete
    3. RUBBISH - IF YOU TELL YOUR BANK YOUR CARD IS LOST THEY WILL ISSUE A NEW ONE, AND ANY RECURRING PAYMENTS HAVE TO BE RE-ENTERED INTO BY YOURSELF. THE CARD COMPANY CANNOT JUST TRANSFER A DEMAND TO A NEW CARD NUMBER. WHO IS THIS 'ANONYMOUS' ANYWAY? SEEMS TO BE VERY 'PRO' THE COMPANY.

      Delete
    4. Tesco Credit Card said the company could still have the money from a new card, so perhaps this is right. The fraud office have details of this company and isn't it strange, Trading Standards said to me when I rang them...is this the company who give a 30 day free trial and then tell you you have not cancelled in time and they sell tablets and patches. So they are known by Trading Standards very well, so many complaints.

  36. I have just phoned after ordering both products yesterday and then realising my mistake that it is a monthly thing. I got through in two minutes and asked to cancel. They have cancelled both orders given me two long numbers and an address to return then to. The product is yet to arrive but when it does the guy said to keep 50% if I wanted and to return the rest in an envelope with the two long numbers inside with the product and on the outside. He said recorded delivery was best and that they needed to be back by the 3rd May! Hope this helps! Also I used the number on the website in the terms and conditions :)

    1. This is all part of the scam. Nutrascience delay in sending out the tablets to most people and then they take the free trial period from date of order, thus shortening the period of time before they start charging you. And in this persons case they never did receive them.

I had actually given up on ever getting them when they arrived, but then I thought I had the stated time on the trial but fell foul because the time span for the trial included the date of order! This is how they get you I am afraid.

My recommendation is AVOID NUTRASCIENCE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

  40. I did read the terms and conditions. I was aware that if i didn't cancel within 14 days i would get charged. I fell for this stupid scam I called back on the 14th day and arranged cancellation and return then the next day they took out £75 and £18.75. they said I cancelled only 1 of the bottles and then I choose to keep them and pay to keep them. I didn't do this the're automated service messed up. when I called I spoke to 4 different people in the same call and all I managed to get back was 65% of the £75. they said that was all they could refund even though the bottles were unopened. I was on the phone over an hour to get this. I then emailed and finally got all my money back so if it happened to you don't give up make sure you get your money back threaten with legal action if you have to.

I have just got through to the automated american accent, and had to keep asking to repeat the instructions especially when they gave out the RMA no. I have also e-mailed them and a reply came back saying there is a 72 hour delay in responding to messages, how convenient is that to exceeding the 14 day return policy ! good job my friend happens to work at my bank and will be cancelling my card tomorrow !

    1. For anyone else reading this, you don't have to have a friend working in a bank to cancel a card, anyone can cancel their card at any time by phoning their bank's customer service line.

      Delete
    2. That happened to me also...72 hour delay in answering queries.

Now 2 things come to mind:

      1) Yes it causes a further delay and may take you past the 14 day period for return

      2) They have so many people ringing them and inundating them with requests to cancel and to stop taking money that they are indeed bogged down with the numbers and it may take 72 hours to respond. It could take weeks from what I have garnered from all the horror stories regarding Nutrascience on this and other forums.

There is an action group against Nutrascience somewehere on the internet. I will look for it and bring you the site address when I find it.

People should not have to change bank cards/accounts to get this scamming company from taking money. God alone knows money is short enough for most people these days as it is.

The fraud department of my credit card company have the details of Nutrascience and seemed to know all about them already as did Trading Standards who had all the facts before I told them! That in itself tells a pretty tale.

    3. Hi, do you remember what options you selected to obtain the RMA to return the product and which address you used?

The crackled amercian voice refers to the products firstly and gives an option two of other cancellation options. Under this option there is a choice of returning (which they say towards the end). I don't want to press this yet in case it opts me into anything as I'm waiting for the products to arrive.

Just want to get the RMA number and correct adddress in order to return asap. I've also emailed them to say I want to cancel within the 14 days and have received the 72 hour acknowledgement emails that everyone else seems to receive.

So worried I'm going to get charged loads for this scam!!!

Any advice would be really appreciated.

      Thanks

  43. I have been scammed as well.
Rang them today as they took £75.00 from my credit card.
I told them that I had not even recieved their pills.Their answer to this was to send them a Royal Mail compensation?lost mail application form.
So scam number 2 comes into effect, they send the form to the Royal Mail and claim the £75.00 worth of goods which have "been lost in the post"Maybe then I get a refund. So win win for them. They have made £75.00 and not sent a thing.
I have spoken to my credit card company today and they put me through to their fraud department who have put the £75.00 on hold and cancelled my card.
Hopefully this should sort it out. I have also emailed these gutter sharks and have informed them that my credit card company are very interested in talking to them.
I do not class myself as stupid, but this has been a real wake up call for me and I certainly will not be clicking any more buttons when bored on a Saturday night!

What has really annoyed me is that Paypal gave them the money on demand and then said they would take it from my bank. My bank will not be reimbursing paypal when they ask for the money and they had better go to Nutrascience for it.

ROT...they will take your money and take your money and keep taking it unless you change your bank accounts.

Just look at all the money they have taken off people like us and for nothing at all as most of us have returned their absolutely useless potions which can be bought from local health shops for under £10!!!!

From what I have experienced with these people and with what I am reading here, they are out to scam money.

I have been told they actually do this in many countries with different products. Sometimes rejuvenating "miracle" face cream. But always the stories are the same....SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!

Disgraceful way of running a business. They are laughing all the way to the bank.

    1. I have considered this too Watchdog and Rip Off Britain as NutraScience deserve to be named and shamed for what they are doing to people.

I ordered the FREE TRIAL (haha) in January and should have taken the wise approach and researched this scamming company on the internet first and foremost...but I didn't and now have had to write email after email to them and I have to say they did reply but are digging their heels in with their top man writing just today and telling me they are "closing the ticket".

I felt that for my part I did everything required. I tried the product and found it utterly useless. I decided to post it back and what do you know, another packet of the potions arrived the very day! I thought they had doubled up on the original order as I hadn't had the first tablets for many days as they took a couple of weeks to arrive after ordering.

So both the 41 tablets remaining from the first order + the second consignment were pacaged up together and returned by special delivery,m so must have been signed for.

I wrote a covering letter asking for them to cancel my order and they agreed and refunded £75. I thought"great"....excpt the £75 was for the second consignment and the scamming devils then took £75 for the first consignment because I hadn't cancelled quite quickly enough!!!

I have been in touch with Trading Standards today but unfortunately this distance selling rule is that one only has 7 days to return the product.

So what about us all forming an Action Group against these people and their rather dodgy way of selling and get them to stop it?

I really feel it has to be done as there are many of these sites on the internet with hundreds of people having been taken in by this company.

I haven't looked on this page for a week or two, but still more and more people every day. WE MUST DO SOMETHING!!!!

As long as you haven't ticked any boxes to agree to the terms and conditions then you should be covered and you have cancelled your card. So be aware of this.

They have cancelled any further orders and I have had confirmation of this. I have been using the product for almost a month now - I lost 5lbs. BUT I have been regularly exercising & even cutting down on food so I wasnt sure if it was me or the pill. I have also been looking out for updates on the web & today is the 1st time I have seen anything to question Nutrascience - typical! The only thing NutraScience are very good at in way of reduction is from your bank accounts. They are not playing fair and this company needs to be told to stop its scamming behaviour.

However as yu have found yourself in much the same position many of us have, please write to Chris leben at NutraScience (email address above somewhere) or Nancy Ricks and do not give in. If you don't cancel within 14 days you get charged. If you do,you don't. Simple. If you're all stupid enough to sign up for a 'quick fix' without reading through the contract then i'm afraid it's your own fault. 71. From yet another gullible buyer just wishing to lose a few pounds...(in weight that is, not currency!) ....

How can it be a 30 day 'free trial' if you are supposed to make a judgement before 14 days have passed, contacted them, (if you can) and they have agreed to have up to 50% them back? That's NOT a 30 day free trial.

I have just been charged £112.50 on the 11th day after having received them (14 days exactly from day of order) and if I am reading it right, have supposedly agreed to an Autoship program that does it again, £112.50, 30 days after the day of the initial order...so they expect to take £225 from my bank in 15 days ! Not f**king likely.

I have decided to swallow the original cost of £112.50 for my own stupidity. Little point in trying to get it back when reading the other forum members and the stress and struggle they have.

However I have emailed them (support@nutrasciencediet.com)advising them that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES am I continuing with the Autoship Program and that they are NOT authorised to withdraw any further money from my account. They are to take my email as cancellation of any agreement between us for the Autoship Program.
I have printed out a hard copy of my email and have sent it registered post to

    For the attention of:
    Nancy Ricks and Chris Leben
    PURE SLIM,
    Unit 2,
    Watchmoor Trading Centre,
    Watchmoor Road,
    Camberley, Surrey GU15 3AJ,

which I believe is the Returns UK address.

I will telephone them tomorrow to ensure they have it from me personally, (if I can get through)

...and finally, I have reported my Debit card as LOST, and will be issued with a new debit card in the next 7 days, with the assurance from my bank that any recurring payments on the old card will NOT be transferred to the new card. So even if this company do try to make another charge, they won't be able to.

    2. There must be some way of stopping these people as if only a small number of people wirte off £112 or even £75 then they are making alot of profit on worthless products. I have been charged (apart from the initial postage fee)£112 on 19 April and a further £122.5 on 4 May. I received the first goods only on 11 April - this is not a 30 day test. Also they hide the fact that although there are only two post charges there are three items - which is how the charges are £75 (£79.75 incl p&P) and £37.50 (£42.45 incl P&P).
Then try and speak to their customer support team - I tried 7 times today!!

    3. What is the actual return address as on another blog someone suggested a PO Box address in Sheffield? It's important that the goods are returned to the correct address by registered post so that they sign for them.

I have tried emailing but the email addresses are defunct. How has anyone managed to send an email to them? Also I agree with the comment above that it's impossible to get them on the phone. Of course they don't want us to contact them!!! So we don't have an address to return the goods, no live email address and can't phone them................they've got us in a corner. We need a valid address to return the goods and have them sign to say they've received them along with a clear letter stating we don't want the products and would like no more dealings with them.

  73. 1. The law states the compnay is obliged to tell you its cancellation policy and to allow you to do this. There is no address for return of their product so it is clear they have broken the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, furthermore there is a part of the law that indicates there shoudl not be an "unfair condition" of a contract. Thus a company that will not supply a return address for a cancellation is intentionally being "unfair"

I suggest you send a copy of your letter - here is - with the original date of your cancellaiton of the order and send and email to ask them the official address of the company, as now registered under Company House as they have not taken your instruction to cease the order and you are in dispute.

The banks need to act for a customer and so if your bank says - as they tend to support international fraud as long as it can be blamed on the customer not "reading the small print", that the bank cannot stop the payments. So close yoru account and re-open another one.

As you do not know how much this company will try to extract in the future based on a contract you neither signed nor were given proper notificatgion of by closing yoru bank account you force them to take you to court for recovery. they would then have to prove that they had a contract with you.

At this stage they would want to prove the product was sent to you and you might indicate that the product shoudl be returned to them via the post but that they do not supply an address.

They will claim you should have phoned them and you will claim that they are obliged to send the proper information.

This comapny is clearly a fraud misusing discrepancies in the law and will call into disrepute good companies like Argos and Direct line. Thus one suggests changing one's banking to these companies or using credit cards to recall payments.

There is no contract based on what the company alone says, otherwise any company and fraudster can claim a contract based on any thing.

I never gave them my bank sort code or account and so as far as I am concerned this is FRAUD.

    Dear

    (Reference: contract/order number)

On (date) I placed an order for a (item). On (date) I wrote to you stating that I wished to cancel the order, but you have refused to accept this cancellation.

The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 give me [from the time I place my order until seven working days from when I receive the goods (if you have bought goods)]/ [seven working days starting the day after the day I entered into the contract with you (if you have contracted for a service)] to cancel. I cancelled within this timeframe and the above regulations state that I am entitled to a full refund no later than 30 days from the date of my cancellation; accordingly, I look forward to receiving this refund no later than (date).

If I do not receive the sum of (£xxx) within the timeframe above then I shall commence court action with no further reference to you.

  78. A tip to anyone trying to get their money back - 0844 745 1722 select the phone menu option as a purchaser, rather than a refund searcher. You will speak to a sales rep - and it might be easier to get your money back. It will also take up sales rep time. I just spent twenty minutes on the phone to one (just as a researcher - I did not and would not buy this product), and he was helpful and honest: some interesting facts - he sells 45-50 trials a day, and there are 20 sales agents in his call centre, and that is just one call centre (or is bolier room a more appropriate term?) This company is making huge money. It is run by a Mr Nick Walters, Nutra Science, Suite 1007, No 75 Auburn St. Portland, ME04 103 USA. The media that take commissions from this company are also scammers prying on the trusting and the vulnerable - include every one from the wretched Daily Mail to the 'fantastic' Facebook. SHAME on them, and anyone else who thinks they are clever making low money from this scam company. Also - by the way, they offer discounts of up to 64% to people who want to cancel - their profits must be astronomical! Which would be fine - if the product worked. Has anyone heard of anyone anywhere who has bought pills from these people and they have done what they said on the packet?

  79. Somethings are too good to be true and unfortunately this is one of them! I think like others i thought it was legit as it was an advert on facebook but it is. Its not a scam as such but a company that prays on people that don't read the t&c's like most of us!
I placed my order on sunday, requested cancellation Monday and received the product today(Tuesday) and they have gone straight back. I don't care that it says you can return only 50% of them after reading all the comments i want nothing to do with them. I cancelled my credit card yesterday just as a precaution (its really easy to do and they will just send you a new card within a couple of days and assured me the company could not claim anymore money)
You just need to contact the company by email(don't waste money on phonecalls) to get a returns number and they will email you back with a returns number and address. Follow all the instructions to a t and that way if they do try to claim any further money it will now be fraud. Make sure you send product back recorded and keep email contacts and you will be covered just in case.
I have learnt my lesson now :(

  80. I also was scammed by them and they had taken £75. out of my account which I could ill afford I am now overdrawn. I came accross this site and thanks to all of you I took action first I phoned my bank to say that my card had been stolen and they re going to send me a new bank card within the next few days I also sent them a nasty e-mail asking them to cancel my acccount and that I was going to report them to watchdog. I also telephoned them and got straight through and asked them why they had taken £75 out of my account and they said it was because I had signed the terms and coditions. What a fool I have been never again, I class myself as an intellegent being yet I was scammed I have now cancelled the agreement with them. I have lost £75 in the process but have learnt a good lesson and I won't be taken in by these people again. Incidently the tablets and patches that they sent me were crap and I didn't lose an ounce. Just beware people out there when you are desperate to lose weight like I and many others are remember there are vicious people out there willing to offer you quick fixes at a price and they do not work. Don't be foolish like Iwas and others like me.

  81. Unfortunately I fell for this also. After eventually getting through on phone and cancelling, they advised that a payment had been taken out as I did not cancel in time i.e. within 14 days. I cancelled within 14 days of receiving goods BUT you have to cancel within 14 days or placing order!!! I said I was going to my credit company for dispute resolution and they cut me off! Big scam. AVOID

    1. Always their "Stock in Trade" answer...you did not cancel in time. I not only cancelled but returned items as was advised to do + new consignment which arrived and sent by "Special delivery" so someone had to sign for them. Managed to get 50% back but that was all....SCAM MERCHANTS!

  84. So none of you looked at the terms and conditions at the bottom of the Free Trial registry page where it clearly states there is a £75 + postage fee every month after the trial?

    Oh dear

    ReplyDelete
  85. I am a retired lawyer who specialised in business and e-commerce law. On 9 May, someone posted some points as well as a complaint letter that I would advise every person scammed by this company to follow and quote when dealing with 'Nutrascience'.
Last week I was contacted by a local CAB office regarding a young disabled mum of 1 who had been scammed by them alongside her father. Between them £112.50 was deducted even though she requested that they cancel it well before the end of the 'free' trial. Her son has a disability and requires a special diet which costs a small fortune and her dad and mum live on their pensions so the deduction hit hard. I have read every email they sent her disgustedly as she implored them and explained but they ignored it and asked for a ticket number that didn't exist cos you only get 1 if they reply (that's a big if btw) which obviously they didn't to her cancellation requests. I've drafted every email in response to them that she has sent as she is devastated with what has happened and the impact it's had on her sons diet and her mums health (she now has nothing in her account and her dad can't buy prescriptions for her mum) and that's putting it mildly. I put her in touch with watchdog and trading standards who have been excellent and supported and helped her, but it hasn't solved the situation financially. Today I got her to message them every 5-10 minutes with the same email, eventually she got messages saying that half of the £75 had been refunded to her and half of the £37.50 to her dad and she'd get the rest when the produce was returned but it had to be at least 50% of it and here were the id numbers she needed to return it for the rest of the refund which proves they lie as you can't just return it for your refund like they claim as you need unique id numbers. Ta da! She begged for further help cos she really needs the money back in an email I drafted which said to overlook their greed and got a nasty email in response from one of the names someone has given here as being helpful saying that there were threats in the emails (no threats at all apart from taking it to Watchdog and TS) so he'd told his staff not to reply until she had a tracking number for her parcel and that it was simple she returned the rest of the medication she'd get the rest of her refund if not she got nada (ransom comes to mind). Everything including that email is now with our local trading standards and watchdog as I'm appalled at how they've treated this poor woman and so many hundreds of people. I would advise all of you to seek help like this poor woman is. She is in a terrible state as is her father, mother and son (both who are in pain due to their medical conditions and there is no money in the pot to pay for her medication and his special diet) and all because of an unprofessional and unethical company and sadly I don't doubt that they're the only household to have been affected like this as a result of nutrascience. I have read 234 messages on 2 consumer complaint sites so far that say that Nutrascience have said they never got the cancellation emails when they definitely sent them. What does that tell you? More worryingly I have also read 37 that say that the medication caused severe illness in people. Who knows what the tablets actually contain? Please stop taking them for your safety and pass your details and complaints on to TS and Watchdog.

    ReplyDelete
  86. God that's so sad about your client and her family :-(. I have been had by this company too who continued to take payments for 2 months after I cancelled with them. I got a narky email from a Chris Leven or whatever his name is so I totally sympathise. You are right that you cannot return the stuff without a unique id number so their clauses are gash and I don't know how they have the audacity to refer to them. I'd love to hear the excuses they give to people who return the stuff without their id number :) or should it be :(? In instances like that poor mum though their actions really make me feel sick and prove that they should be closed down and have the book thrown at them. I would be intreagued to hear what is in their produce you know. Actually I think I'd be horrified. If its caused health problems why haven't the courts shut them down? That's serious! I will send my story to watchdog tonight I hope it helps but who is TS? If you can tell me who that is I'll send it there too and hope it helps future and past victims of that awful company. I'm glad I looked on here tonight

    ReplyDelete
  87. Can you post the nasty email from the unhelpful previously named arse for us all to see? I'd be interested to see if it matches my one cos I was told by a PNUP (previously named unhelpful person) that they were ignoring my emails asking for a refund after I cancelled and they took the money out too. I took them to watchdog immediately and they were great. I saw on another site that the weight loss stuff was tested and it didn't contain anything that they said it did. How are they still operating? I love the word greed it bang on
Guys if everyone sent their dealings with them to the proper companies they'd be closed down soon enough. I also thing the Times and Independsnt should be contacted cos they advertised this crap.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Reading about that poor mum broke my heart so I sent my case to watchdog just then. Is TS trading standards? How do I get in touch with them?
Major avoid to anyone thinking of using them. My neighbor was in hospital for 10 days after taking the tablets. The dr said he wouldn't be surprised if they were floor sweepings :-(

    ReplyDelete
  89. This is not a 30 day free trial it's not even a 15 day free trial it's a scam pure &simple peeps. Had dealings with them in January and it's still ongoing. My complaint is with a small claims court & am claiming damages to. Will log with watchdog tomorrow & hope it helps.
They're predators and there's a name that keeps coming up on here that I've dealt with too. He's an arse. Why are they still around?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Yes TS is trading standards. Google them and you'll get your local office details. Ahhh there's the name of the email sender he seems to get involved a lot. My client is now ill with the stress of all of this and her mum was admitted to hospital with the pain an hour ago. Her son is also in agony so I hope they're proud of themselves. My son informs me that there is a nutrascience scam group on Facebook and I would advise all of you to join and post your emails from them up for everyone to see. I am too old for the facebook generation but my son will keep me updated on it. The emails are obviously cut and pasted from a scammers operations guide. I now have the remaining rubbish that they call break through diet pills in my possession and will return it to them tomorrow. The bottom line is don't fall for the rubbish they spaff in their adverts, don't take their nonsense and rudeness and return everything to them or bin it for your healthy sake. Both the company and tablets are bad for your health!

    ReplyDelete
  91. How sad :(. It just proves that some people/companies have no hearts. They are hurting people left right n centre and leaving thence with nothing. They must have taken millions from people by now for products that do nothing. My mum fell for this and I contacted them on her behalf cos they'd deducted £224 from her and really she's as poor as a church mouse. She didn't even get the second amount of rubbish from them! I heard nothing so I emailed them every 45 minutes. Eventually I got a Nadilya who obviously copy and pasted a standard response and then was passed to an arrogant and unhelpful total butt munch called Chris Leben (or Leven?) who lied and patronised. Cos I couldn't send the second amount back cos we'd never got it he basically told me tough. I still have all the emails cos I took it to Citizens Advice and they forwarded me onto consumer complaints who are dealing with it and who've said the terms and cond aren't even worth the paper/screen they're written on and they've taken on my mums file. I hadn't thought of watchdog or the other company you mentioned so I'll look into that now and pass my mums file on to them.
Sad times :(. Ironic though that they have an anal butt munch working for them and dealing with colon cleansing tablets ;)

    ReplyDelete
  92. Uhh wow! I am an operations manager for a national dieting organisation and recently we have been inundated with queries from our clients asking if we would recommend the Nutrascience weight loss and colon cleanse system. As I knew nothing about it I googled it and came across all of the complaints about them but this page in particular caught my eye. How on earth are they still trading? Their conduct is so unethical! I was dubious when I saw the ingredients in their product and their t's and c's make no sense at all and now I see why! I sincerely hope the young single mum gets her refund and is ok. I have a lot of experience with intestinal and stomach issues in young children so if I can ever provide her with any help and support please let me know. Food for people with these problems costs a small fortune and not eating the special food and food within your limits results in agony and serious health complications. What a bunch of sh&@s! I will spread the word amongst our customers to steer clear of this product. I'm truly disgusted and hope that they're closed down asap

    ReplyDelete
  93. Not surprised at any of issues on this page with this evil company. Tablets don't work cos they don't have ingredients in them to do any of the work they claim. They will take and take and take and bully or ignore you regardless of the impact it has on you. Best advice stay clear. Look at how many people have had to cancel their bank accounts cos even after cancelling they take money. Thiefs and lying scum.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Can anyone give me the details for the company owner and registered address pls? Trading standards and watchdog are asking for the details. If everyone takes their complaint to them (just fill out a form simples) then they will have to cease trading and their unethical theft will come to light. Chris Leben- arrogant bullying git. I've dealt with him before when they stole from me. Steer clear of nutria science. There's no nutra, no weight loss, no science and the claims on the site are false

    ReplyDelete
  95. I am an ex employee of the company. The whole thing is a scam. The tablets have nothing that will do what they say it'll do and they have worded the terms of the contract in a way that means they can deduct money willy nilly. When I first started we got set sales targets and were given a load of pre worded emails to use with complaints. There are 20 agents per area and there are good incentives in return for hitting the targets. Basically regardless of what argument you use they will sneak around it and make it your fault. Chris Leben is an arrogant and heartless arse avoid him if you can. You will never get confirmation that they won't deduct any more money either so that they can deduct further payments. I left not long after starting because I saw too many cases like the mum aboves and I have morals. Avoid them they will make your life hell. I haven't been paid what they said I would get for my sales targets because they say I only get it if I'm with the company. Unethical is a perfect word for them and scammers too. Put the 2 together you get nutrascience aka proslim. Avoid them and don't sign up for the products

    ReplyDelete
  96. So of all the people on here who have been had by them how many got their full money back? I'm very worried because I cancelled 2 days ago by sending them an email and I've heard nothing back. I camt afford to have money taken from me continuously. What should I do?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Since my last post my client and I are no further forward. I sent the produce/crap back to them recorded delivery and gave my client the tracking number to pass onto them. I also told her to send an email saying she wanted the refund and confirmation their card details had been deleted off the system and no more payments would be taken. 24 hours on and no response! How very strange considering we're doing exactly what we were told to do!
I've read the comments on here and it's unbelievable the amount of hell this company have put people through yet they're still trading?
My client is a lovely and very soft lady. She lost her husband 14 months ago in a car accident, suffers from a degenerative disease in her spine and the same heart condition that killed her sister and she dotes on her lovely little boy and follows his special diet to a T. She runs support groups for families with the same condition her son has, families and sufferers of her medical condition you name it. She literally dedicates her life to everyone else. She only weighs 8.5stone but wanted to love half a stone (why?) so she signed up to this vile company. Instead of helping her, they've made her so ill with worry and guilt towards her mum and sons suffering and her lack of finances that she was prescribed high doses of Valium on Wednesday. I hope they're satisfied with themselves.
I think the moral of the story is that NO ONE get involved with this company and make sure you tell your friends as well and get them to pass it on. And if you do get involved, contact them immediately and literally send your email every 10 minutes to get their attention. You're entitled to a full refund none of this 50% rubbish as the t's&c's are misleading. Any probs go straight to trading standards, consumer rights, consumer complaints and watchdog and tell your bank to file a claim against them as well. It's safer to just avoid them like the plague and tell everyone you know to do the same

  98. I to have bee n scamed by these people. I have paid for the one and only batch I recieved from them and when I cancelled soeone emailed me saying I owed them money but I have been in touch with my bank and lawyer and the both say im within my rights to refuse to pay anymore more for tablets ive already paid for. Unfortunately the bank cant do anything unless they try to take money from my bank again until then I have to just wait and see. I feel a total fool and feel stupid for falling for this. These scammers are feeding off of people insecurities.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Cost me £112.50. Lesson learned - I must read the small print, not just tick the "accept T&C" box. Anyone want to buy some unopened tablets? No contract...

    ReplyDelete
  100. I have also been scammed. It took one telephone call (0844 7451722) and 3 emails to support@nutrasciencediet.com each time telling them I want a refund and I would not accept 'no' for an answer to get a 50% refund. I am happy with that as I am Partially to blame for not reading the terms and conditions and this was resovled within the same day. Even though I have in writing they will not take any further money from my bank account I think I will cancel my card as a precaution. To anyone who has been denied a refund, keeping trying they will cave eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I have been emailing them for 3 months now requesting to cancel and receive a automated email back. I have tried to call the number and all I get is voicemail stating that everyone is busy and to call back later. unfortuntaely, it comes out of my debit card linked to my current account, so can't even cancel my credit card.

    1. Call the bank and cancel the debit card, advise the bank your debit card details have been compromised but your PIN is ok. The bank can cancel the card straight away, it takes 5 mins. The site only has the card details given to them at the time of purchase therefore they will not be able to take any further funds from your account.

  109. Sorted In 24 hrs. Immediately cancel with them, threaten watchdog and rogue traders, email at every opportunity stating you are cancelling. Ring your credit card company and cancel your card, they are very sympathetic. Point out the second paragraph on their reply about the programme you have signed up to, It is very ambiguous, send back the 2.49 same day, first class recorded delivery, email and ask for confirmation of receipt and finally, I informed them that my postman was instructed not to leave packages without a date and signature. Received an email stating my contract was cancelled and no further monies would be taken.
