Dermajuvenate scam

Another scam from the internet which is even more dishonest than usual. This one even lies about the "free" sample, the inevitable inducement with these scam products.
The usual glaring headlines are there "MUM OUTSMARTS BOTOX DOCTORS", Yeah yeah! and the usual implausible promises and photoshopped before & after pics.
Before

After

And of course you have to authorise repeated theft from your credit card.
But the most blatant lie lies in the small print. In the introductory page the crooks repeatedly highlight that they will give you a free trial. In the small print it says "We're giving you a trial bottle for only £3.79"  Not quite free then is it, especially when they add another £1.99 for "insurance". Still a total of £5.78 is no massive sum. But further on it says that if you do not cancel "We will bill you £89.31 for the trial bottle you received" So your "free trial" will actually cost you £95.09.
Perhaps they're using some definition of the word "free" that I'm not familiar with.
Oh and then there's the "Rejuven eye max" that you're supposed to buy as well, as the products only work when used together, obviously. That's another £69.95.
So that's £165.04 for two free samples. And then £159.26 every month thereafter.
I think I'd rather stay wrinkly.

  2. DZ: it's difficult to understand how people fall for these sort of scams. If it looks too good to be true....... (bit like Robert Tallack's scam for allnaturalpainmanagement widely reported last year).LOL

Google searches quickly turn up scam reports, the UK address in Edgware indicates a scammers paradise. The Better Business Bureau (BBB)has an alert against them :
Take care – you think you are getting a free sample but you need to give your card details to cover the small P&P. You then get charged again and again for more products cos of the difficulty in trying to cancel!! It’s known as the “negative option billing” scam.
In USA they have what’s known as the Better Business Bureau (BBB) who review the quality of USA companies, here’s the link: (click on the alert)

My advice to those being scammed is to go into your bank, bang the table and quote "CHARGEBACK" to the counter assistant and for them to report to their fraud department.

Find the trading standards that covers Edgware and report to them.

As a co.uk website report the scam to Nominet

  3. Rip off merchants. No doubt about it.
My only solution was to cancel my debit card and order a new one. I tried to cancel by phone. They said they would send an email confirming cancellation but still waiting.

  4. why are these people "scammers" never convicted? a lot of these types of scammers are taking advantage of seniors and trying to take their retirement. This has got to stop! There needs to be legislation on this matter, b/c if we don't stop it we may be the next victims when we end up old and taken advantage of b/c of our mental old state.

Finally, as soon as I said that I will make a complaint, the accepted to refund the total amounth in about 3 days. I will see if it is thrue. Visa office told me to wait. Good luck to me !

  8. I did not FALL for it...it was a free trial for filling out a survey! I would not believe their advertising hype, but I thought a free trial for filling out a survey...whatever...so..yu..they stole the money for the "free trial". I do have a confirmation email though to cancel any future deductions. We will see!

  10. I too got suckered in thinking I was going to get a free sample, missed the "fine print". I sent an email saying no more please, and they still charged another $200.00 even though I emailed them indicating I did not want their product! Then the following month I had to phone, the first guy wouldn't even give me a confirmation number. A total scam!!!!!!!!!!

  13. I am cancelling all orders!! The credit card company is in the process of filing fraud charges against Rejuven Eye Max! I did not authorize any other charges!

    1. You're lucky!! I just got scammed too!! What a bunch of crooks!!! They charged almost $200 on my MC. I called my MC supplier and they know all about this company yet they still allow these charges to go through. They told me that I had accepted the "Terms" so I would have to pay for it.

  15. Thank you for informing me I did receive my free trial but cancelled my credit card as soon as I read this. Should I still send the creams back as I'm in Canada?

  16. I was scammed also for almost 200.00. Phoned my bank and they told me to get in touch with them ahd he gave me a phone number and email to reach them. I only had time to use the product for one day and the charges were in my account. They count your 14 days trial from the time they send the product or when you order. The phone number fort Derma rejuvenate that you can reach them at (where I did reach them is: 866-202-5804 and email is Becclientservices@trydermajuvenateplus.com and for rejuveyemax phone number is #888-960-3123 and email is clientservices@tryrejuveyemax.com. Because of my being past the 14 days and telling them that the bank was looking into it the offered me a refund of 30%. What a scam. Don't forget to ask the name of the person that you are talking to, the time and date of the call, confirmation # or email confirmation, Received confirmation but the refund is not in the bank yet. I returned the product but did not call them first so he said that if you do not call them first to get a number they throw the product in the garbage. What a waste.

  17. yes phone them first to get a number and then send it back because they probably go after you. I am also in Canada

  18. I also fell for this scam and should've known better. Thanks to all these posts I canceled my VISA and called Derm Rejuvenate and request to cancel the free trail. When I called he quickly offered 30%discount and I said no I don't want this product. He gave me the address to mail back to (out the two shipment payments) and he emailed me two confirmation RMA numbers .
If you are a victim of this please cancel you credit card but also attempt to contact them and cancel the trail so they don't come after you for taking their product and not paying. Good luck

  19. nevre order the trial , they say it's 3.79 then a transaction of $89 for the product after your trial of 14 days....biggest scam. sneaky individuals

  20. I called the 1-800 # and spoke directly to a representative and advised I was cancelling both products. She tried to persuade me with a 50% or a refund but I held firm. Shortly thereafter I received 2 e-mails confirming my cancellation. I will contact my credit card company just in case of any future charges to not process them as of today's day. I hope I am one of the lucky ones in actually cancelling an order. I too didn't read carefully enough in the Terms and Conditions nor did I see anywhere the actual costs of these items. I was a bit surprised at the final billing - almost $200!!!! After 3 weeks I don't see any changes.

  21. I also found out today that I've been scammed by this company. 3 charges, totaling almost $300 on my credit card today! Extremely misleading and deceptive marketing and advertising. I was led to believe that I was trying a trial product, in the same way that many reputable companies offer reduced-price and/or free trials with the hope that the consumer will like it and continue to be a customer. Nothing with the online ordering process, provided indication to me that it was a trial "period". In fact, I received the products (I ordered 2 different products) AFTER one of the full charges of almost $100. This company is extremely sneaky and its actions amount to outright fraud in my view. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!

  22. Cannot believe that I fell for it, where by I am pretty smart when it comes to online freebies! $300 taken from my credit card, I asked for a RMA number and was told they couldn't give it to me because my account was cancelled!!! Really wished that I would have done some research to find out if it was a scam....When its a free trial and you pay the shipping charges you shouldn't have to pay anymore... oh my!

  23. cancel your credit card. your visa company is in collusion with these scam artists. refuse to pay the outstanding balance. write visa thell them the charge is being disputed. if they send a negative credit bureau report on you...it's against existing legislation in my province and probably yours too. no one can disclose a debt to anyone if it's in dispute. if the do, sue them for libel and slander, to maximum your small claims court will allow. then amybe visa and mc will quit supporting these crooks.
