Armageddon

Well it's now less than a month till the supposed end of the world and I'm going to repeat a suggestion that could just enable you to make a lot of money, though it would take a certain level of cold hard heartedness. Find yourself a deluded gullible fool who really believes that the world is ending next month. Offer him £5000 for his house, and everything he owns, the deal being that you pay today but he does not have to relinquish all his worldly goods till the day after the end. What has he got to lose?

  1. Sorry Zorro, I want £250 000 for my house and another £50 000 for contents. That does not include my violin, piano, guitars and Laura Ashley chandeliers or carpets; I'm keeping those. On the other hand, you can have my old Brother typewriter, ZX81 and collection of my mum's old handbags in my loft if you want. Do we have a deal?

  2. Ah, but you don't believe the world is going to end in a few weeks time. Do you?

  3. Drat, you got me there Dr Z.. If I chucked in a Laura Ashley chandelier and the ZX81 would you re-consider?

  4. What a brilliant idea Dr Zorro! Wish you'd come up with this a few months ago, now I'm going to have to hurry to seal the deal with at least one let alone 101. No hard heartedness - just sheer joy knowing I'm able to give someone a $5,000 gift in their, believed, final days. After? What's the lack of a house and all wordly belongings compared to the sheer relief experienced when life goes on - and a $5,000 gift from a complete stranger - got to be good. Just love doing good. Thanks Dr Z.

  6. Ok, both chandeliers. And I'll include the 16k extension to the ZX81 that means you can play Space Invaders on it. Just to show that I don't conform to the tartan stereotype..
